In a crowded hall of the hotel Lone, with the ceremonial assignment of prizes to the winners of the annual competition it ends the program of the biggest festival of photography Rovinj Photodays.
The awards were assigned according to seven official categories and four authors from Croatia were among the winner. Their artworks have especially delighted the main selector, the prominent American photograph Tod Papageorge. Mario Topić, Igor Sitar, Suzana Holtgrave and Đani Celija have been chosen among the seven hundred registered candidates from all of the world, and their works were shown for the first time in a group exhibition of all the finalists, which was the main event of this festival.
This traveling exhibition will be shown in other cities of Croatia, like Pula, Rijeka and Zagreb, but also in institutions and festival across the Europe. In this way the contemporary scene of photography of the region is trying to strengthen itself, and the authors have a setting of quality to present their artworks to the public and to the international photograph community.
