PORTRAIT OF A MOTHER
My mother got divorced 25 years ago, when she gave birth to me, and since then she gradually withdrew into herself. She never remarried, and after her parents passed away ten years ago, she was left alone to take care of two children and a large house.
Over time, my sister and I became self-centered, while my mother found comfort only in taking care of her flowers and her cat. She has been working on the railway as an economist for more than 40 years.
The situation at home worsened as her retirement approached, but at the same time we began to open up more about our individual struggles.
In this series, I document the end of one chapter in her life — the period before her retirement.
