When we think of a palm tree, we imagine a being full of life: strong, imposing, and exuberant. However, not all of these plants conform to this imposed identity. In this series of photographs, like hidden beautiful ruins, new abstract and impossible forms emerge.
Endémico explores how light reveals the existence of grotesque shapes and the state of lament of these palm trees, concealed on the periphery of our attention.
These two paragraphs have accompanied the photographic series Endémico since 2020. This work stems from two fundamental aspects: first, an interest in how humans perceive the landscape around them and coexist with it, as well as which scenes they accept and which they reject. Second, this series seeks to give visibility to an opposing image of a landscape that is often overlooked.
