Dear photography friends,
we have announced the Winners and Finalists of Rovinj Photodays 2017!
Willie Osterman, this year’s head selector, had only praise for each of this year’s finalist. He judged the work to be exceptional and it was quite challenging to pick the finest 20. It is worth mentioning that amongst them there are 4 photographers from Croatia, 4 from Serbia, 3 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 from Italy, Macedonia and Slovenia and one each from Spain, Sweden, and a duo from Great Britain.
The winners and the finalists of the competition will show their work in an Exhibition of winners and finalists that will be the focal point of the festival, in Rovinj on May 5-6, 2017.
Over 8,600 photographs were sent in for this year’s competition which was open until January 31st to all photography practitioners worldwide. Around 600 photographers applied from 27 countries and, as expected, the majority was from Croatia and the neighboring countries. Judging was done in two rounds: National selectors and the festival advisers preselected all work that was sent in and then forwarded it to the head selector, Willie Osterman, who chose three finalists for each category.
On behalf of all festival advisers, we take this opportunity to congratulate the finalists and the winners of the competition and wish them further success with their creative work.
