List of categories with explanations

1.    ARCHITECTURE
Photos of the interior and the exterior, views (bridges, buildings, city panoramas, living spaces, urban landscape and similar). Photos can represent abstract forms and perceptions, including everything from historical subjects to contemporary tendencies.

2.    FASHION
Fashion photography is most frequently a result of joint work of several creative artists (art director, stylist, make-up artist, model…). This category also includes beauty photographs, photographs of models and photographs of clothing items, as well as photographs of street fashion. Fashion photographs can be created for magazines, fashion brands and campaigns, etc. but it is not a requirement.

3.    NATURE
Landscape, nature, aerial photography, underwater photography, flora and fauna, travel-book photos or travelogue…

4.    PEOPLE
Portraits, auto portraits, social events, sport…

5.    FREE SUBJECT
Motif or subject undefined.

6.    NUDE
Vision and perception of the human body, play of shape and light, shadow and curves (female and male nude).

7. STILL LIFE
Photographs give the photographer an opportunity (more than other photo categories) to arrange and design the elements of the photograph and their composition and interrelation.

Special categories:

8.    PUBLICATIONS
Photo-illustrated monographs, exhibition catalogues and exhibition booklets published in 2009 sent along with the entry form. This category is an exception because the important date is the date of publishing rather than the date when the photographs in question were created. Independently from this category, every photographer can enter additional 20 works for the competition.

9.    CONCEPT THROUGH A SERIES OF IMAGES
Concept through a series of images must have a distinct subject and adequate description, and short curriculum vitae of the author should be enclosed. These are photographs united in a series, an author project that includes a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 photos. Every photographer can enter no more than 2 concepts through a series of images and, along with the CV and description, they are sent by e-mail (jumbo mail) or post. Independently from this category, every photographer can enter additional 20 works for the competition.

10.  MULTIMEDIA
Works created through the usage of camera which combine more types of separate media, in order to create a whole. It is important that the name and the description of the project, as well as the methods and techniques of the work, are clearly stated when entering the competition. Independently from this category, every photographer can enter additional 20 works for the competition.
