FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: 1. How many photographs can be registered within one category?
A: One author can register twenty photographs at the most. The author can, if they want, enter all twenty photographs within one single category.

Q: 2. Does the application form have to be filled for each registered photograph?
A: Only one application form is enough, but the name of the photograph and the categoryfor which it is registered must be indicated on each registered photograph. 

Q: 3. Where can I find the application form?
A: a) Download a printable .pdf application form
     b) Contact the office and ask for an application form to be sent by e-mail.

Q: 4. Can digital photographs be entered for the competition? How?
A: Yes, they can, digital photographs can be sent by e-mail, on a CD or they can be uploaded while you are filling our on-line application form. 

Q: 5. What size can digital photographs be?
A: Digital applications have to be saved in .jpg format.

Minimal technical standards for digital photographs are:

  • 6 MP
  • 300 dpi

Q: 6. Can one photograph be registered in more than one category?
A: Each category has a description. One photograph cannot be registered for more than one category. 

Q: 7. Can amateurs apply for the competition and is there an age limit?
A: Both professional photographers and amateurs can apply for the competition and there is no age limit. 

Q: 8. Will the winner of each category get an award?
A: The winners in all categories will get the "Kadar". 

Q: 9. How will my photographs be used?
A: You will be informed each time the organizer chooses to use your photograph and has decided for what purpose it will be used. Your photographs will NEVER be used for anything but the promotion of you as the photographer, the photography itself or Photodays. 

Q: 10. Where will my photographs be used/shown?
A: The destinations and methods of promoting your photograph are unlimited; from displays at publications in the media and official publications. 

Q: 11. Will I receive financial compensation for the use of the photograph?
A: If the organizer is planning to use the photograph for something unrelated to the promotion of the competition, the photographer will be informed and they will have the chance to refuse. If the author wants to be involved and approves the use of the photograph, they will then make arrangements with the organizer concerning the conditions regarding financial compensation and business cooperation. 

Q: 12. Will Maistra use my photographs?
A: Maistra is our partner in the promotion of photography. As a general sponsor it may use the photograph solely for the purpose of promotion of Photodays and the photographer.
